你好! ⇒ 您好!

Means "hello" and can be used at any time of day. You can replace "你" with other subjects to greet different people.

* Use "您好" when speaking to elders or superiors as a sign of respect.

Means "good morning" and is only used in the morning. You can replace "你" with other subjects.

* Use "您早" when speaking to elders or superiors.

Questions with "吗" (1) ⇒ 你好吗?

Adding "吗" to the end of a statement turns it into a yes/no question. "你好吗?" means "How are you?" and expects an affirmative or negative reply. The standard response is a set phrase such as "我很好." It is typically used between acquaintances.

Questions with "呢" ⇒ 你呢?
