Words for People

我wǒ = I / me (yourself), 你nǐ = you (the person you are talking to), 他tā = he / him (a boy or man), 她tā = she / her (a girl or woman). 他tā and 她tā sound exactly the same — only the Chinese character is different!

  • ①我wǒ (I / me) ／ 你nǐ (you)
  • ②他tā (he — boy) ／ 她tā (she — girl)

"…and friends" = 们men

Add 们men after a people-word to make it plural — like adding "-s" to say "we," "you all," or "they."

  • ①我wǒ → 我wǒ们men (we / us)
  • ②你nǐ → 你nǐ们men (you all)
