GILL COMMUNICATIONS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, "we") makes every effort to protect the personal information of users (hereinafter, "users") who have registered for the online Chinese lessons we provide.

Accordingly, we have established the following "Privacy Policy." When providing us with personal information, please read this "Privacy Policy" carefully and provide your information only after you have understood and accepted it.

1. Personal Information

Personal information refers to information that can identify an individual, such as the name, gender, date of birth, postal code, address, telephone number, and email address you provide when using our services.
The personal information we collect is limited to the information users register on our website (hereinafter, "this site").
However, information that a user has given directly to one of our tutors, such as an email address shared during a lesson, is not regarded as personal information here.

For the purpose of providing lessons, we limit the user information disclosed to tutors to the username and the IDs required to connect to lesson tools (such as a WeChat ID). We do not disclose names, email addresses, or any other personal information to tutors.

3. Collection of Personal Information

Users are asked to provide personal information when using the services we offer.
In addition, access history (logs) for the website is recorded on our web servers.

* Cookies: We may use a technology called cookies.
Cookies are a function by which a web server sends data to, and references data from, your browser. They do not violate user privacy. You can enable or disable cookies at any time in your browser settings.

* Access logs: We record information such as IP addresses regarding users' access history on our servers. This information is used for purposes such as monitoring for unauthorized access and improving our services. As a rule, this information is not disclosed to third parties.

※ Chat content during lessons: We record the content of chats during lessons conducted using our proprietary tool “NetChai Meeting” (the speaker’s username, message text, and time of the message) on our servers in Japan only when a user enables “Save NetChai Meeting chat history” in their account settings. The records are retained for 90 days after the lesson ends and then automatically deleted. Users may disable this setting at any time; chat content from lessons held after the setting is disabled will not be recorded.

4. Use of Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect only in the following cases.
(1) To provide information about the services we offer
(2) To respond to problems when they occur
(3) To settle service fees and collect late charges and other amounts due
(4) To verify identity
(5) To provide users with downloadable copies of the chat histories from lessons they chose to have saved, and to verify the facts in the event of a problem

5. Information Distribution Services

On the premise that users have agreed to our Terms of Service, we send information to users. This is to inform users of important matters regarding the various services we provide (newsletters, campaign information, surveys, etc.).

6. Entrustment, Provision, and Sharing of Personal Information

As a rule, we will not entrust or provide personal information to third parties for purposes other than those stated without the user's consent.
However, the following cases are exceptions.

This Privacy Policy may be revised without prior consent by posting the updated version on this website.

9. Personal Contact with Tutors

Users are prohibited from contacting tutors of our service outside of lessons, whether online or offline. We assume no responsibility whatsoever if a user's personal information is leaked as a result of personal contact with a tutor.
