Bio:
Hello, my name is Anne. Since I was a child, I've loved Japanese anime and manga, so right after graduating high school, I went to study abroad in Japan. I lived in Tokyo for three years, and through meeting many Japanese people, I came to love Japanese culture even more. Now, as a NetChai tutor, I think it's a great honor to teach Chinese to everyone. Please feel free to take a lesson with me. I'm looking forward to your reservation.

  • I had a great time chatting! I was surprised to learn that the tutor shares the same name as a famous film director I know. We mainly talked about food. When I mentioned "Tian津飯," they seemed surprised and asked if it's a Japanese dish. Without me even asking, they quickly sent me a picture of the recipe.
  • During pronunciation practice, the tutor teaches me mini-lessons about vocabulary that comes up, which really helps my studies. The teacher's voice is also very easy to listen to and understand.
  • She teaches me not only the textbook content but also everyday things related to Chinese, which has made me very interested in the Chinese language.
  • Teacher Anne is fluent in Japanese, so her explanations of grammar are very easy to understand. She also explains vocabulary beyond the textbook using chat, which really helps with my studies.

  • I was quite nervous at first, but the tutor made the lesson very easy to understand and enjoyable. They taught me related vocabulary and example sentences, and even left notes in the chat, so I was able to learn very efficiently.

  • The lesson started at a completely different location than where I specified. I had no idea what was going on at first. Partway through, I requested a change of pace. I got the impression that the teacher has a calm, unhurried approach.
  • During the lesson, Skype cut out for about 1-2 minutes, interrupting the class. When the lesson resumed, it ended at the scheduled time, but it felt like the lesson ended without having covered anything new in the vocabulary section. While some tutors push forward even when time runs short to complete the lesson, this particular tutor's approach was quite harsh this time, in my opinion.

Booking & Lesson Guidelines

  • Bookings open up to 2 hours before the lesson OK.
  • Cancel up to 1 hour before lesson , press the cancel button. Cancellation closes 1 hour before the lesson — after that, notify your tutor via Teams chat.
  • In unavoidable circumstances, a tutor may need to cancel a lesson. If the lesson can't be held that day, customer support will arrange a substitute tutor or reschedule the lesson.
  • Your tutor will call you on Teams at the start of your lesson, so please log in to Teams and wait. (If your status isn't online, the call may not connect.)
  • If the tutor is unable to reach you within 10 minutes after the lesson start time, the lesson will be treated as an absence and canceled.
  • If your tutor hasn't called within 1 minute of the start time , please call your tutor instead. Depending on Teams status, their call may not connect. (Their Microsoft account is in your booking list on your Dashboard.) If you cannot reach them, contact Contact Us to contact us.
  • Occasionally, tutors may face issues such as power outages or network failures. We respond as quickly as possible, but if multiple tutors are affected at once, there may be a delay. In that case, your lesson will be rescheduled — please contact Customer Support.
  • Teams support is limited to emergencies where our customer support team needs to contact you.
