Bio:: Hello. My name is Miao Miao, and I'm from Aomori Prefecture. I studied Japanese for four years at university. Since I've loved Japanese anime since I was a child, I chose to specialize in Japanese at university. I believe Chinese is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, just like Japanese. I waited 5 minutes past the start time, but there was no contact, so I didn't notice the subsequent communication. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Last time, because it was a short lesson, they kindly extended it for me a bit.
The tutor had the wrong Skype name, so I couldn't reach them for about 15 minutes. I finally got through after contacting support. Since it was my first lesson, I was pretty stressed.
After retiring from my regular job, I started studying Chinese. I took the Level 2 Chinese Proficiency Test, but I kept failing the listening section. I was discouraged, but at the end of last year, at age 75 on my seventh attempt, I finally passed the listening section with a score of 85 points. This is entirely thanks to Tutor Miao Miao's guidance. I have been learning from this teacher for three and a half years now, and they are always bright, enthusiastic, and encouraging. Currently, I am studying past Level 1 exam questions as textbooks, which are quite challenging, but I am hoping to reach a level where I can take the Level 1 exam by age 80. With the motto that Tutor Miao Miao taught me, "Learn while you live, live while you learn," I hope to continue receiving guidance from Tutor Miao Miao going forward.
There's noise in the audio, and while it's still audible, it would be better if it were improved.
I requested free conversation lessons, and I was able to have enjoyable conversations with Teacher MiaoMiao. However, there were occasional connection issues with Skype, and the video would sometimes freeze for a few seconds in the latter half of the lesson.
I received lessons that struck the perfect balance between strictness and kindness, and I was able to practice pronunciation carefully.
She gives thorough guidance on pronunciation, so I highly recommend her for beginners. I also received advice on how to progress with self-study. She teaches very kindly. There are occasional delays in communication. There was some background noise from Skype.

Since this teacher has been correcting my pronunciation from the beginning, I'd like to request pronunciation lessons to continue improving. Please teach me in an easy-to-understand way, perhaps using tools to demonstrate things like tongue movements.

I had a great time learning. I was able to ask about the Aoshima beer incident without hesitation. It's something that happened in Japan too, you know. I also learned about the origin of the name MiyaoMiyao.

Important Notes on Booking and Taking Lessons

Bookings open up to 2 hours before the lesson OK.
Cancel up to 1 hour before lesson , press the cancel button. Cancellation closes 1 hour before the lesson — after that, notify your tutor via Teams chat.
In unavoidable circumstances, a lesson may be canceled by the tutor. If the lesson can no longer be held that day, our customer support team will arrange a substitute tutor or reschedule the lesson.
At the start of the lesson, your tutor will call you on Teams, so please log in to Teams and wait. (If your status is not online, the call from your tutor may not connect.)
If the tutor is unable to reach you within 10 minutes after the lesson start time, the lesson will be treated as an absence and canceled.
If your tutor hasn't called within 1 minute of the start time , please call your tutor instead. Depending on Teams status, their call may not connect. (Their Microsoft account is in your booking list on My Page.) If you cannot reach them, contact Contact Form to contact us.
Occasionally, tutors may face issues such as power outages or network failures. We respond as quickly as possible, but if multiple tutors are affected at once, there may be a delay. In that case, your lesson will be rescheduled — please contact Customer Support.
Support via Teams is limited to cases in which our customer support team needs to contact you in an emergency.
