Bio:
Hello, my name is Izumi. I'm from Luo Yang City in Anhui Province.
I studied abroad in Tokyo for six years. I hold a Level 1 Japanese Language Proficiency Test certification. Since returning to Japan, I've been working as a translator. I love talking with people and helping them, and I want to develop the ability to facilitate smooth communication between Japanese and Chinese people. Going forward, I'd like to share the appeal of the Chinese language with everyone through NetChai.
Recent updates:
Izumi's lessons started on June 21, 2020.
Student reviews (latest 100):
  • Thank you for discussing the concern that engineers might also be displaced in the near future (or perhaps now?) due to the emergence of autonomous AI coding agents. I really appreciate it.
  • I mentioned before that I had four coffee machines that were just sitting unused. Thank you so much for that.
  • I appreciated that they immediately added pinyin to the chat box for any words I had choked.
  • Even during the one-child policy of the 1980s, minorities were considered exceptions, which was fascinating. Thank you very much.
  • Even for words I didn't quite understand, the tutor added pinyin to make them easier to grasp. Thank you so much.
  • We discussed the PPP issue. I think the problem of selling public enterprises to the private sector is not very common in China.
  • I learned about calcium deficiency (缺钙). Thank you so much.
  • Recently, I had sushi at a rotating sushi restaurant in Japan without pictures on the plates. Thank you so much for the great experience.
  • I'm glad I could learn the correct pronunciation! The teacher explained everything carefully. I feel ready to work hard from next time ☆
  • We talked about going to a BBQ. Thank you!
  • Today's topic was the impact of the Iran war on Japan. Thank you!
  • We discussed how it's always the elderly, children, and common people who are deeply affected by war. Thank you.
  • We talked about self-checkout (セルフレジ). China's technology is about 5 years ahead of Japan's, isn't it? Thank you!
  • We exchanged opinions about Chinese restaurants in Japan. Thank you very much.
  • I learned that push-ups are called 俯卧撑. Thank you.
  • We talked about how gas prices are rising even though Japan has oil reserves.
  • Teacher Izumi has experience working at a Japanese company and has studied abroad in Japan, so she's very knowledgeable about Japanese circumstances. When I get stuck explaining Japanese situations in Chinese, she's really good at offering alternative ways to say things. I've been taking lessons at NetChai for about 15 years, but Teacher Izumi is in the top 5 in terms of teaching ability. I especially recommend her for beginners learning Chinese.
  • When I ordered a "大盛り" at a restaurant, it turns out it's 大份, not 大盛り. I learned that. Thank you very much.
  • I explained in Chinese that the reason my computer broke was because the monitor cable was plugged in wrong. I learned the word 插反. The teacher is really skilled at teaching Chinese. It's wonderful. I look forward to our next lesson!
  • I realized I knew but also didn't really know that China doesn't have conscription. South Korea has it though. Thank you!
  • The teacher told me about how people spend the Lunar New Year. Thank you!
  • I was able to have various interesting conversations. I understand better when talking with Chinese people! That's why I want to be a Chinese speaker. Thank you very much.
  • I saw her cute cat. It was sneezing, but please take care of yourself. Thank you.
  • I learned that China's 暖气 rates change depending on the floor area. Thank you.
  • Chinese people's choice of mobile phones has changed from choosing trendy phones to choosing based on 性价比 (price-to-performance ratio). That's so characteristic of pragmatic China. Thank you.
  • I shared updates about my recent situation together with New Year's greetings. Thank you so much.
  • I had a conversation with the people in Chinatown about how they celebrate New Year. I hope for a good year ahead.
  • Thank you for teaching me how to plug in the power cord. There were words that appeared several times in past lessons, but I regret that I didn't remember them. This time I made sure to write them down carefully in my notes. I look forward to learning with you again next year.
  • In the past, Japan issued government bonds to finance war expenditures, which led to hyperinflation and became a trauma for Japanese people. However, I discussed how government bonds issued for the people can help control yen depreciation if used wisely. Thank you very much.
  • With China's minimum annual salary, one can eat rice three meals a day, but in Japan, there are situations where even that rice cannot be eaten, and I find that subtle difference fascinating. Thank you so much.
  • I discussed telework fitness training with my tutor. Thank you so much.
  • I listened nostalgically as they talked about the time when Yoshino's beef bowl was only 280 yen. As a result of the ultra-low interest rate policy, the value of the yen has halved.
  • Today, I studied phrases related to "shopping" from the thirty-seventh lesson. My tutor shared helpful insights, like how I often just passively observe when I go to stores, and explained common mistakes I tend to make with Chinese expressions like "discount" (何割引). It was a really valuable lesson.
  • Today, I learned important vocabulary for lesson thirty-seven about "shopping for clothes." Since the lesson was about clothing, I talked about things like how I sometimes carelessly pick clothes from the top of my closet without thinking, and how it's nice that uniforms exist so I don't have to choose what to wear every day.
  • In China, even regular trains have baggage checks, whereas in Japan, while the Shinkansen certainly has baggage checks, regular trains do not. Whether it's the Chinese government fearing social unrest or the Japanese government prioritizing the economy over people's safety, either way, it's a hopeless situation.
  • The decline in tourists from China is a major blow to the Japanese economy. However, Japan had previously aimed to be a tourism-oriented country, and now they're talking about strengthening defense capabilities. To be honest, even with my own country, I don't understand what we're trying to accomplish. That's what I discussed. Thank you so much.
  • I ran into an old man with exclusionary views near the station and got into a conversation with him. After listening to what he had to say, I felt like I was watching a video that had risen to the top of YouTube's recommendation algorithm, so I wanted to look away.
  • I talked with the tutor about a robot that strikes like a fencing competitor. Fencing seems to be a striking sword sport. Thank you very much.
  • Thank you so much for teaching me so carefully today. I look forward to working with you again.

  • Thank you so much for teaching me so carefully today as well. I look forward to working with you again.
  • I was a bit surprised to learn that there's a tendency in China recently to not observe the traditions of the forty-ninth day ritual. Overall, both Japan and China seem to be experiencing a secularization of these customs.
  • The tutor was very kind and explained things in an easy-to-understand way. Thank you so much.
  • We talked about pet health insurance. I also explained how to give pure water and prevent tooth decay. Thank you so much.
  • No matter who becomes prime minister, we discussed how Japan will never change.
  • You know, when you don't have conversations, your brain starts to deteriorate. But when you speak Chinese, your brain becomes activated.
  • I talked with the tutor about the reality that Japanese people receive small pensions, so even after turning 60, many have no choice but to continue working. Thank you so much for listening.
  • I had the tutor explain to me about the discrimination against foreigners by Japanese people in recent years. We discussed the dangers faced by people who are unaware of the seriousness of the situation. Thank you so much.
  • Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my family's feedback in person.
  • It became a topic of conversation in LINE group chats, and I got to learn some internet slang terms. WeChat group chats aren't called 团 (tuán), but rather 群 (qún), kind of like how we say 微信群 (WeChat group). It was really helpful for my studies. Thank you so much.
  • I had the opportunity to ask about Aoshima Beer. I found it quite interesting that Aoshima Beer is consumed from paper packs in its home location. Thank you so much.
  • Thank you Do you have availability on Monday?
  • Thank you

  • I had a discussion with my tutor about my number card. In China, carrying an ID document is essential, isn't it? We were able to talk about it from both the perspectives of freedom and management, which was very meaningful. Thank you so much.
  • It's better not to have conversations in Japanese. I'd like to practice with simple Chinese conversations.
  • I enjoyed studying and was able to learn happily by explaining in Chinese about the time I went to visit family members at the hospital. I also found it valuable to hear about nursing situations in China. Thank you for your help.
  • Even though I had the opportunity to talk with the No. 2 person in national politics about Sushi, I really enjoyed learning how to express an episode where I completely forgot to ask a question in Chinese. Thank you so much.

  • I was able to talk about my recent visit to the hospital. Thank you so much.
  • China has many famous beers, not just Tsingtao beer. I haven't tried lower-grade beers, but this one seems delicious.
  • I found it fascinating to hear about how people in China play mahjong as a way to prevent cognitive decline. I've noticed that in Japan too, more people seem to be playing mahjong for their health. Thank you so much.
  • We recently discussed the new ordering format on smartphones that Alipay has introduced (which is already common in China). Thank you so much.
  • I was able to have a great conversation about a Japanese politician who was in a wheelchair. My Chinese vocabulary has also increased. Thank you so much.
  • I heard that fusion cuisine is popular in China, but I couldn't quite picture what the finished dish would actually look like. Going forward, I'd like to polish my Chinese language skills. Thank you for your continued support.
  • I was able to exchange opinions with my tutor about the merits and demerits of Japan's salary system versus the abolition of consumption tax. Thank you so much.
  • Thank you so much for teaching me in such a clear and polite manner! I really appreciate it.
