Recent updates:
Sakiko's lessons started on April 9, 2021.
Student reviews (latest 100):
  • The tutor teaches with great enthusiasm. Their Japanese is also excellent!
  • Today I learned HSK 4 Lesson 1, textbook 5. I was taught about the grammar structure of "因为...做" (because...do). Since the subject comes before "因为," the latter part of the sentence has no subject. I made mistakes several times at this point, but the teacher patiently explained it to me.
  • I ask you to review the textbook, and they explain the key points very clearly and clearly. There are so many topics to talk about, so I look forward to every class.
  • The conversation using words from the textbook was well guided by the teacher, making it easy to speak. Thank you always for your careful guidance.
  • She always explains things politely and in an easy-to-understand way. She even sends me recorded audio outside of lesson time and teaches me with great dedication. I really appreciate her enthusiasm.
  • The grammar explanations are really easy to understand. While there are some teachers who just keep pushing forward, Sakiko sensei really understands her students' level of comprehension and tailors her lessons to match each student's needs.
  • Today, I was able to answer the comprehension questions based on the text from the first lesson correctly. Since I had a stiff lower back from being busy last week, I ordered the mugwort moxa recommended by the teacher online after the lesson. When it arrives, I'm thinking I'd like to warm up the sore areas with the mugwort moxa ball (herb ball) or soak in a bath with it.
  • I did a textbook review session. I had completely forgotten the material, but thanks to Sakiko-sensei's clear explanations, I was able to enjoy reviewing it.
  • Teacher Sakiko's lessons have always been so enjoyable that time flies by before I know it. Thanks to her encouragement, I feel motivated to keep studying hard.
  • This time, the tutor taught me tips on difficult Chinese sounds that Japanese speakers tend to mispronounce. For example, gou 4 is much easier for natives to distinguish if you pronounce it with the English "GO" sound. Until now, I've been pronouncing guo4 without distinguishing it from it, so this was really helpful. As for my weak point que1, the tutor explained that it's better to add the q sound at the beginning of the yue1 pronunciation. I was amazed!
  • I'm so relieved to see you back and in good health! Teacher Sakiko's lessons are always top quality — they really motivate me to keep going.
  • It was such a relief to see you looking well!
  • Today we did our usual practice and finally got into 刚/刚才. The teacher explained the difference in how topics develop between Chinese speakers and Japanese speakers. For example, in China, even if you say "Tomorrow is ××'s birthday," the response might just be "Hmm" and end there, so you need to push a little further and say "Let's celebrate." Learning about these kinds of linguistic and cultural differences is very educational.
  • Today, I learned about 适合 when used as a verb and 合适 when used as an adjective. The teacher skillfully picked out the Chinese language points that were subtly embedded in the textbook's lesson text and explained them in an easy-to-understand way, so I'm really grateful.
  • Today I learned the usage of 不仅...也/还/而且 and 从来. Since you teach me actual usage patterns as they appear in Chinese, it's been really helpful.
  • It was very easy to understand.
  • I finally started lesson 1 of HSK 4. Today you taught me how to use 熟悉 and 不仅. Thank you.
  • I was happy the teacher recommended some good Chinese dramas to me.
  • I was finally able to start the HSK4 textbook. In today's lesson, starting from a movie that was in the textbook, the teacher taught me about China's four tragic love stories (梁山伯と祝英台, 白蛇伝, 孟姜女, and 牛郎織女). I'm very happy to be able to learn about Chinese history and culture that Japanese people don't usually know about.
  • I learned a lot from having my e pronunciation corrected—something I'd neglected for years.
  • Thanks to my teacher, I was able to complete the HSK3 textbook without any problems. Thank you for teaching me everything so carefully. I'm truly grateful.
  • In Sakiko 先生's lessons, I always get a sense of what's happening in China right now, which is very interesting. I learn vocabulary that isn't in textbooks but is actually used a lot, so I feel like I'm getting a bargain. For grammar, the teacher has grammar tables that she's put together, and they're clearer than any textbook. I'm really glad I chose Sakiko 先生.
  • She is a truly wonderful teacher. The teacher carefully teaches me HSK3 textbooks according to my wishes. The teacher's pronunciation is very easy to understand, and she also explains difficult grammar in a very easy-to-understand way. She also teaches me about Chinese history, making for a very interesting lesson.
  • Starting from a discussion about the various dialects in China, she taught me the characteristics of Chinese dialects while listening to dialect videos. She responds flexibly to students' questions right away, so my motivation to study increases.
  • When I casually said something in Japanese, the teacher didn't skip over it but asked 'How do you say that in Chinese?' - it was really helpful! This kind of thing makes me so happy!
  • In free talk, even if I don't have a particular topic prepared that I want to talk about, I'd be happy if the class is the kind where the teacher keeps asking questions through everyday conversation and continuously draws out more of my speech.
  • I studied new vocabulary. Rather than just reading and explaining the meaning, the teacher had me think of example sentences and taught me other ways to use the words. Sakiko-sensei understands her students' weak points and provides appropriate learning advice during class, so I'm able to develop study methods that suit me.
  • The teacher always explains things in such an easy-to-understand way. I look forward to her classes.
  • Even though I speak slowly, you patiently wait without interrupting, and you point out mistakes right away, so I had a really valuable time! Thank you so much.
  • Thanks to the test the teacher created, I was able to reconfirm my weak points. I also got advice on study methods from the teacher, so I'll work hard to overcome my weaknesses!
  • At the end of the lesson, the tutor gave us a listening mini-test that they had created. Since it's rare to get a chance to do a listening test on your own, it was truly a valuable experience. The tutor is always considerate and thoughtful for their students, which makes them difficult to part with.
  • I got caught up in New Year's festivities and forgot about lessons for a while, but the teacher's explanations were so clear and easy to understand. I really appreciate how thoughtfully you teach. I look forward to working with you again this year.
  • I had a hard time getting an appointment, but I was finally able to take my first lesson of the new year. The teacher shared mysterious stories from their personal experiences and fascinating stories about New Year's in China, which was really interesting. Beyond just the textbook, the teacher talks about Chinese daily life in an easy-to-understand way, which makes studying enjoyable.
  • The tutor carefully corrected my pronunciation. The lessons are easy to follow and progress smoothly. Since the teacher is very skilled in Japanese, I can understand even the subtle nuances.
  • She explained topics that appeared in the textbook in a way that kept me interested, and it was fun – 25 minutes really flew by.
  • This teacher is very skilled at conducting lessons. Not only does she correct mistakes, but she also explains incorrect pronunciation and intonation in an easy-to-understand way.
  • The tutor sends reference images of the materials that appear in the textbook to the chat, which helps me understand the content.
  • Today we translated the main text of the textbook. The tutor guides me to translate as much as I can on my own, which is really motivating. The lesson was very content-rich and flew by in just 25 minutes.
  • The teacher explains Japanese example sentences and then asks questions like "should this sentence be translated into Chinese using '把' or not?" They put effort into lessons beyond just textbooks, so every class is enjoyable.
  • Learning Chinese through the teacher's lessons has become even more enjoyable!
  • I've been requesting lessons using textbooks, but the tutor always conducts the lessons in an easy-to-understand and calm manner. Since they expand conversations from example sentences and vocabulary, the lessons are really enjoyable. Next, I'll try to find some Yamaga sweets here in Japan.
  • I have many free talk sessions with Teacher Sakiko, but within those conversations, she teaches grammar and idioms, so I'm always able to study without realizing it. Since review is so important, she sometimes checks if I remember newly learned vocabulary, which is really helpful!!
  • Teacher Sakiko always asks if I have any questions at the start of class. When I ask just one question, it naturally leads to all sorts of discussions and grammar explanations, and I really feel that the way she progresses through the lesson is skillful. Even when I don't bring up topics myself, the conversation keeps expanding in such interesting ways that every lesson is genuinely fun!!
  • Thank you so much for always making lessons so enjoyable. Today I was able to learn about how to care for cats when they're sick, and it was really educational. (=^・^=)
  • Since the teacher teaches me tidbits of Chinese knowledge while conducting the lesson, I'm able to learn more deeply. The lessons with my teacher are really enjoyable.
  • She carefully went back to the basics and patiently taught me the parts where I was struggling a bit. She always adjusts her teaching to match how I'm feeling, which makes it really easy to understand.

  • She teaches the pronunciation method in a really easy-to-understand way.
  • I studied using predetermined phrases to practice conversations on specified topics. Since Teacher Sakiko led the conversation, I was able to enjoy chatting while using all the phrases. She always puts thought into her lessons, which is really appreciated.
  • I always do review and preparation, and take lessons! Please kindly explain anything I don't understand. When it seems like it will take time to write things down in my own notes, if you could type it out for me, that would be really helpful. Thank you always!
  • The tutor explained difficult vocabulary that is hard to translate into Japanese using several pattern examples, making it easy to understand.
  • She carefully teaches me the structure and organization of sentences! Thank you so much, always!

  • Using the HSK3 textbook, the tutor corrected my pronunciation accurately and provided thorough grammatical explanations. I'm very satisfied.
  • Coming up with example sentences in Chinese is difficult for me, but whenever I struggle, the teacher thinks through the problems with me, so I can take lessons with peace of mind. The teacher always explains things carefully at my own pace.
  • She always teaches me with enthusiasm.
  • I talked about a Chinese movie I had seen before. Even though the tutor is young, he knows a lot about old movies, which really impressed me. Today's lesson was enjoyable as always.
  • My memory isn't great and I tend to forget things right away, but the tutor kindly told me, "Don't worry, I'll teach you as many times as you need~" which really encouraged me.
  • Thank you so much
  • Today as well, she taught me grammar in a thorough and easy-to-understand way.
  • Lessons are always coming up while the tutor is speaking so clearly with good pronunciation. I understand that listening practice with native speakers is necessary, but right now I want to do more practice expressing myself, so I think it would be even more fulfilling if you could help me with simple questions and such!
  • I'm practicing reading passages. Since the lessons are recorded, I can listen to them multiple times and review, which is really helpful.
  • The tutor clearly explained the difference between "听懂了" and "听得懂" for me. When I couldn't recall vocabulary, the teacher patiently waited for me with kindness and understanding.
  • I studied grammar. I was able to create example sentences on my own, and the teacher also put in effort to help me progress through the lesson in a short amount of time.
  • I have never encountered a teacher who explains grammar as skillfully as this one. Every lesson, I find myself genuinely impressed, thinking "Amazing, Teacher Sakiko is so easy to understand," as I take in the lessons.
  • I studied vocabulary. The teacher reads slowly and clearly, making it very easy to listen and understand. Even the difficult pronunciations become something I can do well thanks to the teacher's excellent teaching method.
  • I created short essays together with the tutor. It was fun to learn Chinese from Japanese anime like 《Demon Slayer》and 《Toilet-bound Hanako-kun》. The essays I completed are saved as audio files, so I can review them during spare time, which is really helpful.
  • I practiced pronunciation while reading passages. The teacher patiently read the text over and over for me, and with their kind support in correcting my pronunciation with confidence, I feel my pronunciation has improved.
  • Today I had a conversation practice lesson. The teacher adapts to my level and draws out conversations so naturally that I ended up speaking much more than I had anticipated. I was really surprised at how much I could talk.
  • Rather than simply progressing through the textbook, the tutor tailors lessons to match my skill level and carefully guides me through the difficult parts. Every lesson is very fulfilling.
  • Sakiko-sensei's lessons are always so much fun! It feels more like chatting with a friend than taking a class. When she explains grammar, she uses her own compiled grammar notes, which makes it much easier to understand than any textbook. I look forward to every lesson!

Sometimes we discuss popular foods and fashion in China, tourist destinations, the formation of the Chinese language and history, and sometimes even stories about the cat she has at home—the topics never run out. I really think that having such rich and varied topics before our free talk sessions is very important for students, and it's the secret to making lessons enjoyable.
