Bio:
Hello, this is my first time writing a review. My name is Gyousetsu, and I'm from Changchun, Jilin Province. I've lived in Toyama Prefecture and Kyoto, Japan for a total of 6 years, and I hold the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 certification. During my time in Japan, I have many wonderful memories, and I'm very grateful for that. With a spirit of giving back, I would be happy if I could help NetChai members with their Chinese language studies. So please feel free to take a lesson with me. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and I sincerely hope we can work together.

Gyousetsu sensei started lessons on September 27, 2021.

  • Thank you for teaching me useful phrases for giving guidance in Chinese. You are a wonderful teacher who can handle both basics and practical applications!
  • Today as well, they provided very careful pronunciation guidance for me. I want to become better at pronouncing Chinese!
  • Thank you for teaching me the correct pronunciation and how to properly pronounce the rolled r sound. I studied Chinese at university before, but I think the method that Gyousetsu-sensei taught me is the easiest to understand and the most effective way to practice!
  • Thank you so much! Gyouseisetsu sensei teaches me more accurate pronunciation than what I learned during my university days. I look forward to your continued support as I work towards being able to speak fluently!
  • She is a wonderful teacher who provides excellent pronunciation guidance, uses rich vocabulary, and is very attentive when listening to her students. She accepts questions beyond the lessons (though she does limit them somewhat), which is truly appreciated. She encourages me with "Let's do our best together!" and works hard alongside me, so I feel very motivated!
  • Teacher Gyousetsu is a teacher who was working as an interpreter in Japan, so their knowledge of Chinese is outstanding, and their understanding of Japanese is also excellent. As a Chinese teacher, they provided me with valuable advice on my future learning approach. I look forward to continuing to work with you!
  • Whenever I couldn't find the right expression, you typed it in the chat right away — that was such a big help! It was a lot of fun.
  • You taught me everything from the very beginning, step by step. Pronunciation is my weak point, so starting from the basics really helped — I feel like the Chinese I had forgotten is slowly coming back to me. I want to keep working hard going forward.

  • I was nervous since it was my first time, but the teacher's smile put me at ease and I was able to take the lesson very relaxed. Thank you so much.
  • Thank you teacher!
  • Actually the explanation method of the Yamaga Kinton lantern was quite difficult for me, I think I need to try harder!
  • Thank you for listening carefully to my recent concerns and giving me honest advice. It was really helpful.
  • I wanted to read a farewell poem in Chinese with my Chinese tutor on NetChai, so I sent the teacher a classical Chinese poem (Han poem) in advance. The teacher was kind enough to introduce me to an even better classical poem. Thank you so much. I look forward to continuing with you in the future.
  • The instructor always had a smile on their face during lessons, and it was really enjoyable. I also appreciated how they moved at a good pace through the material.
  • Every lesson is so enjoyable that I've been able to continue with NetChai. I'm taking a break from lessons for now due to being busy with work, but I'm looking forward to starting again next year! See you next year!
  • Even when I'm in a state like having a towel draped over my shoulders fresh out of the bath, they reassure me by saying "You're all good!" so I can receive lessons with peace of mind. Thank you always for everything.
  • The teacher had very clear pronunciation and was easy to understand. They spoke at a pace that I could follow, and the conversation lessons were really enjoyable. Once I started speaking, they would listen attentively without interrupting, which gave me plenty of opportunities to practice. I was also happy that they would correct my mistakes kindly.
  • Thank you so much for checking my pronunciation! It was really great. I look forward to continuing to work with you.
  • It might be a setting on my end, but I was disappointed that my camera wasn't showing on the screen.
  • Thank you for acting out "eye movements" for me - it was so clear and easy to understand!
  • Thank you for your guidance. It was a bit challenging.
  • She explained things clearly and made the lessons very enjoyable! Thank you so much, teacher!
  • I'm very happy! Thank you so much
  • Since Japanese was used fluently, I was able to take the lesson with peace of mind.
  • Even though I've been connecting a few minutes before the lesson time, the connection tends to break right at the lesson start time... However, today I was able to see your face without any issues, so that was great! Thank you so much, teacher!
  • There was also a technical issue where the tutor's video wasn't displaying, but we were able to continue with just audio. I hope it will be fixed by tomorrow...
  • Right after starting lessons, I apologize for having my microphone unset due to replacing PC peripherals. However, I'm very grateful that even when I was running behind schedule, the tutor conducted the lessons as usual until the scheduled time. Thank you so much.
  • At first, I couldn't see either of us on camera, and while I was able to see my teacher's face partway through the lesson, it seems there were some technical issues on the teacher's end. Because of this, I could only hear audio throughout the entire lesson, and I wasn't able to log out from the teacher's side—I had to disconnect from my end. Even when I could hear the audio, it kept cutting out. I'm hoping things will be better tomorrow. Teacher, thank you so much for your patience!!
  • During the lesson, the teacher first read the text aloud for me to listen to, and then kindly suggested ways for me to read it. It seems like I'll be able to progress at my own pace.
  • I installed the desktop version because of the migration to Teams, but the specifications are a bit different and it feels a little awkward... However, even though the app has changed, I hope you'll continue to support us well.
  • Yesterday, I wasn't able to send the textbook, but when I sent it urgently on the day of the lesson, the tutor responded right away, which was really appreciated.
  • Thank you for teaching me how to progress with my lessons. I really appreciate it.
  • Skype's connection quality has been consistently poor, but we managed to get through it somehow. Thank you so much for today as well. I heard that Skype is being discontinued, so I'm wondering if we'll be switching to Zoom or something in the future...?
  • I think it might be an issue with my PC, but there was a moment when I couldn't hear your voice clearly, and the lesson ended up being cut short. I'm really sorry about that. I'll make sure to check things before our next lesson. Thank you so much, teacher~
  • I'm still not sure whether the character "着" should be read as "zhe" or "zhao", but whenever I mispronounce it, the tutor immediately points it out for me, and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much!
  • There have been some issues on Skype's end lately, and things haven't been going very smoothly, but thank you so much for taking the time to teach me for 25 minutes today!
  • There were no issues with the lesson itself, but right after it started, there was a Skype connection problem, and it showed "Call ended: 22 hours" from the previous session, which surprised me! I'm hoping nothing like that happens in the next lesson (laughs). Thank you again today, Teacher Xie Xie!
  • There was some initial awkwardness, but once I got back into it, the tutor gives a solid 25-minute lesson even when there are no other students scheduled right after me. Thank you so much.
  • I've gotten to the point where I can speak naturally, so I'll keep working hard! Thank you again today, Teacher Xie!
  • It was so much fun. Thank you so much.
  • I was nervous at first, but the instructor led the lesson so well that I was able to relax and have a comfortable conversation.
  • We've been experiencing some poor connection quality for a while now, and there's been some mystery about whether it's a time lag issue or if neither of us can hear each other clearly, but we managed to work through it somehow. I'll check the settings on my PC side. Thank you so much for today as well.
  • The example sentences that pop up from time to time are full of quirky charm, aren't they? (laughs) I'm looking forward to our lessons tomorrow too!
  • I thought my cold had gotten better, but now I have allergies...! However, I was able to stay focused during the lesson, so that was good. I'm looking forward to our next session!
  • Even though I'm reading correctly, I'm still not sure what sound I'm making, but I'll keep at it (laughs). Thank you so much today, Teacher~!
  • I thought my cold had gotten better, but it came back, and I thought I'd be unable to hear well. However, I managed to get through the lesson without any issues. I'm looking forward to our next session tomorrow.
  • I was struggling somewhat due to catching a cold, but I was somehow able to finish the lesson. Thank you so much, teacher!
  • The audio quality was poor and hard to hear. Since I'm still new to NetChai, there are things I'm not used to yet. I appreciate that the tutor takes the initiative to guide me, but I felt like they weren't flexible enough when I tried to take the lead on certain things.

  • There are words that don't usually come up in everyday conversation, and I struggle with them when reading, but since the tutor points out the correct pronunciation each time, I can take the lessons with confidence. Thank you so much for always being there.
  • Even though I'm a beginner, the tutor answered my questions sincerely and helped me progress through lessons in an enjoyable way.

  • Today's free talk and text lesson were both very fulfilling.
  • I was worried about whether I could keep speaking in Chinese since I'm a beginner, but the tutor kindly spoke to me in Japanese, which gave me so much peace of mind. With lots of encouragement, I became motivated to keep learning. Thank you so much!
  • Today's lesson was fulfilling as well. I'm looking forward to the next one.
  • After the lesson ended, I suddenly heard a bamboo flute sound and laughed. The everyday sounds of China are nice too (laughs)

  • I can't listen properly when I'm not interested, and it's not just my native language, you know (laughs). I'll keep working on my listening skills and doing my best.
  • Yesterday they were wearing a similar colored outfit, and today right when class started we both said "Same color!!" and laughed together. They always translate even the smallest details into Chinese for me, so I learn something every time. Thank you so much.
  • I've finally finished the 4th textbook, but I'm going to go back to the previous Chinese textbook to work on my listening skills. I'm determined to keep at it! Thank you so much today, Teacher Xie!
