Bio:: Hello, my name is Rui, and I'm from Kushiro. I specialize in Japanese and hold the JLPT N1 certification. I spent a year on an exchange program at Hokkaido University of Education.
Currently, I'm also self-studying Spanish, and I understand the joy of learning languages from a learner's perspective.
As a NetChai tutor going forward, I'd be delighted to help you all enjoy and appreciate the fun and depth of Chinese.
I'm looking forward to studying Chinese together with you all in a fun way.

During the lesson I learned new vocabulary like "星鳗" and "炖菜."
During class I thought the explanation method about opera was pretty difficult!
During the class I learned the subtle meanings of Chinese words.
After class I learned about the 闭关锁国 Edo period and its relationship with Korea, and actually there was ongoing cultural exchange back then.
During the lesson I learned about specialties from Shenyang, which is embroidery that satisfies people.
In class, I learned the new vocabulary "蛤蜊" (clam). The teacher also pointed out that my pronunciation of "电影" (movie) wasn't good, which made me realize it. Thanks to NetChai's lessons, I'm improving steadily.
In class, I learned about the types of wild bears in Japan, specifically the "brown bears" of Hokkaido and the "Asian black bears" of this prefecture.
The tutor follows the textbook closely during conversation practice and provides advice on natural ways of speaking and other helpful tips.

Booking & Lesson Guidelines

Bookings open up to 2 hours before the lesson OK.
Cancel up to 1 hour before lesson , press the cancel button. Cancellation closes 1 hour before the lesson — after that, notify your tutor via Teams chat.
In unavoidable circumstances, a tutor may need to cancel a lesson. If the lesson can't be held that day, customer support will arrange a substitute tutor or reschedule the lesson.
Your tutor will call you on Teams at the start of your lesson, so please log in to Teams and wait. (If your status isn't online, the call may not connect.)
If the tutor is unable to reach you within 10 minutes after the lesson start time, the lesson will be treated as an absence and canceled.
If your tutor hasn't called within 1 minute of the start time , please call your tutor instead. Depending on Teams status, their call may not connect. (Their Microsoft account is in your booking list on your Dashboard.) If you cannot reach them, contact Contact Us to contact us.
Occasionally, tutors may face issues such as power outages or network failures. We respond as quickly as possible, but if multiple tutors are affected at once, there may be a delay. In that case, your lesson will be rescheduled — please contact Customer Support.
Teams support is limited to emergencies where our customer support team needs to contact you.
